I'm north of you about 5 hrs. Anyway give him a offer of $2800 ,it does have 7000 on it ,the top end depends who did it? You can get a XCR 800 triple with factory pipes & in very nice shape VES ex. pushing 150hp. for that same price here in Saskatchewan, Canada.
I was going to offer the same $2700-$2800 for it. Would you go for this or the 600 with the rebuilt? The rebuilt was done by a local mechanic in Moose Jaw and they do have some miles on it since it has been done. Was not done by a dealership.
First of all, the ads SAY kms... But are they? If they're actually miles (and many sleds in CA are not showing kms on the odometer if the gauge is mechanical), then I wouldn't touch either one of those machines unless they cut the price by 40% or more.
I own a 2002 Edge X 500 in Blue/Yellow. Very high mileage (13,000 miles) but meticulously maintained and not abused. No 'cans' or aftermarket parts of any kind. And my sled would sell for about $1500 max at this point in the season. Allowing for the additional expense of sleds in CA, that would make it $1800 for my machine there.
Offer 2,500 ... and no more than 2,750 - 2,800 as you work your way up. Remember, if you have cash - money talks and if the owner wants the money bad enough - he may take whatever is offer to him - WL
