Anything to know about shift 136?

Picking up a couple 2012 hold over Shift 136s tomorrow. With the lack of snow, I am probably crazy but the price was too good to pass up to have new units with a year of warranty. We just ride ditches and trails around our home and easy to own, reliable machines are much more important than performance these days. I went with the longer track because of back issues...need the better ride and don't need to be getting stuck. My dad is 72 and never rides over 30 mph.

Currently have 96 indy trail and 98 indy 500. Anything special we should know about these shifts? I have heard not to run them 25-35 mph...not sure how to do that exactly. Have heard they are set to lean from the factory...hope that has been corrected in 2012. what is the best way to break them in?

Thanks in advance for any assistance...hoping to keep them for a long time to come.

Is it the 550 Fan cooled engine? If so, there have been a lot of problems with that engine that result in short life. Adding ducting to cool things under the hood seems to be a common theme in attempts to fix. Google "550 Polaris issues" and you will have a bunch of stuff to read...

they do have the 550F motor. did the google search, seems like all the problems were in 2005 era sleds of a different type, and a bunch of the 2009-2010 shifts...anyone have any problem with the 550f in 2011 or 2012 models?

got em home and out to the fields of snow...WOW can't believe how far technology has progressed in 14 years. Such a comfortable ride. My wife said, "it almost makes it seem easy". No question we have been working way too hard on those old machine. This just might keep us in the sport for awhile. It is a completely different experience on modern machines.
