Should I use sealant on new head gaskets

I am installing a new head gasket (Winderosa after market) on my Indy 500 Fugi engine. Should I use a gasket sealant such as Permatex high temp copper, or install it dry?

NO, head gaskets do not require any type of sealant. If you put sealant on the headgasket you might as well just go buy another gasket and start over.

Also make sure you torque the head down properly in the proper sequence and to the proper ft Lbs of torque. If you don't you might as well just start over.

Thanks. I had done a top end bore and piston replacement last year. The sled ran perfect but shortly overheated. I had apparently not purged the coolant system enough. I later tried to purge the system again but this time I had anti freeze going into one cylinder. I never thought to recheck the torque and took the head off to inspect the piston/cylinder. The gasket appeared to have a tiny damaged area on the metal ring for the cylinder that was blowing anti freeze.
As far as I can see there is no damage to the head, jugs or pistons. The surface areas are flat.
I will install the new gasket dry as recommended. purge, purge and more purge. This time I will re-check torque following the first couple runs.

Thanks for the reply.
