Carb Issue! No gas in bowl
I have a Polaris indy 500 not sure on the year i cleaned the carbs multiple times the fuel is pushing out of the lines on every pull but it isnt getting into the bowls. What could cause gas to not make it into the bowl even though the passage is clean? i can pour gas into the bowls and the sled will run until the prime is gone but no more gas will go in any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Buddy

Weak fuel pump or a clogged fuel filter. Possibily a broken pick up in the tank. I just fixed one today that had a broken pick up line in the tank.
I do not think it is a carb issue I think it is more a fuel supply issue.

I just replaced all lines filter and shutoff valve. the line in the tank seems to be fine it gravity feeds immediately. Can i buy a replacement fuel pump or rebuild mine? just seems odd to me.

Rebuilding is cheaper and not difficult.
I would also check the inlet needle/seats. If they got stuck closed, no gas can get in the float bowl.

If i unplug the lines from the pump will the fuel gravity feed into the bowls? Trying to find a way to prove it is the pump.

pull one of the lines. Put the end into a clear container and pull the rope. If the pump is working, there will be a bit of fuel come out every time you pull the rope.

There is gas coming out of the lines on each pull...could there be a vaccum problem that would stop it from entering the bowl

sounds like the floats could be sticking.
take the bowl off and blow into the where the gas line go onto the carb
air should flow through when "u" shaped peice is held towards the carb as if floats are holding it up and none when held down

i thought that when the floats were down the gas came in to raise the floats to shut the gas flow back off to not overfil the bowl i have cleaned the needle and seat very thoroughly and check to make sure they move freely i cant imagine them sticking at all in any direction.

it seems like the pump isnt working when i connect it to the carb theres a little air buble at the inlet to the carb that doesnt move when i pull it a million times. the gas flows out when they are unplugged from the carbs not sure what the deal is there gonna try rebuilding the pump this week if the doesnt do it im gonna buy a set of used carbs

check where the throttle cable goes into the carb, that screw adjusts. if its out too far it will affect idle greatly. just to check pull the plugs and put them back in the boots and pull the cord, you can see the spark.
