okay, the temp gauge is diagnosed (broken inline fuse) and the console is pulled apart. now my next questions-can i use any inline automotive fuse or do i need special AC fuses ? and,in a pinch, will automotive bulbs work in the gauges or do i need ac bulbs from polaris ? i think i know what i need, but i don't know if alternating voltage supply electrical parts are the same as automotive DC parts.

The bulb is a 4030015 (Polaris part number.) You can google it and find cheaper places to buy it than the dealer.

Light bulbs don't care if it is ac or dc voltage, as long as id does not exceed the maximum capacity of the filament.
For the most part, you can get replacements cheaper at an auto store, including the headlight.
