96xcr600trip

ok so i just got a 96 xcr 600 tripple and it has a 136" track 2" paddles engine rebuilt, clutch kit, jetted for 110, ok recently we have gotten a lot of snow and when riding this threw the deep snow it will only go 40 mph at 6k rpm and that almost half throttle and if try to go farther it starts to bog out.

so today i decided to try to figure out what was goin on, i looked at the belt and it glazed almost to a mirrior finish. the clutches are also very smooth and shiny. im goin to put the new belt on and see if that makes a diffrence tomorrow, but i want to know why it glazed over it is basicly brandnew.

i almost want to say it becuase of the track and then very deep snow. if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

You can always try scrubbing the belt edges with Scotch Brite pads. Then make sure you wash the belt with warm soapy water to remove any grease or oil.

Clean the clutch faces as well, drive and driven. Some use brake cleaner, rubbing alcohol or other stuff. I like to use acetone myself.
