just wondering if those ice scratchers are gimmicky or do they actually work to keep engine from over heating. i realize you can't go in reverse with them, but looks like a smart idea in general ....can u get after market for any sled?
They will drop the engine temps about 30 degrees. In hardpack or icy conditions, they are very necessary, especially if the sled has had the bogey wheels deleted. The wire ones work better, the cable ones are more convenient.
i ahd studs once and one of the studs flew off, and of course with my luck it flew up and broke my heat exchanger in the tunnel...lol....just couldn't have flown out the back.
