xc 500 Low idle after warmed up

I have a 2000 XC 500 non ves. I bought it last spring and finally took it out this weekend. Put about 50 miles on it and it ran fantastic. The only things was after a couple of longer rides when I got back and was letting it idle it dipped to like 500 rpms and wouldn't pop back back up after I gave it throttle. It fires right up and idles at 1200-1500 normally and like I said ran great, it was just the two times. Carbs were gone over, compression 125psi, anything else to look at. Thanks

I've had the same thing happen once or twice. My buddy has the same sled, and I think it happened to him once too.

Would be nice to know what caused this to happen.
