Hi all,
I somehow vibrated a bolt out on my electric starter for my 96 indy xlt touring.
It's the end closest to the ring gear, the only bolt in that end bracket and threads into the crankcase.

The service manual says to torque the 8 mm bolt to XXX f/lbs, but it doesn't actually tell me what size 8 mm bolt it is!...

I think it's an 8mm x 1 but it doesn't seem to thread in with an aftermarket bolt.

Is the thread pattern coarse?...anyone have an extra bolt laying around?

It didn't help to pull the bolt at the other end of the starter, it was a M6 x 1 and is way too small for the output/ring gear end of the starter.

Any tips?

All three polaris dealerships say it's a discontinued item...
