Fuel Filter for my sled (Dan help! lol)
Ok, so my snowmobile is at the shop getting kinks worked out, the guy says on those sleds (2009 700 RMK) you should replace the fuel filter at 1,000 miles, then every 2,000 miles after that.
My sled has 987 miles on it so that is coming up.
Problem being the fuel filter for them through the shop is $130... The part number is 2520771, I've found them online for $79.99, and $31.99... I'm just curious if anyone has shopped for this filter before and knows if the $31.99 would be the correct part. I've heard that some filters that say they will work with this sled actually wont because of CFI, but I don't know that for a fact, just something I heard somewhere.
The guy did tell me that they require a special tool to switch out but I could pick them up at any auto parts store for like $10.

WHen I bought my filters, I did not find an after-market that was plug and play. Babbitsonline may have the OEM one cheaper.
I used a plastic Lisle 3/8" angled fuel line disconnect tool I got at the parts store. It was less than 5 bucks. Tie a string on it so when you drop it, you can retrieve it when you drop it without having to tilt the sled on it's side. Trust me on that.
Here's a three-piece set at Sears for less than 10.

Do you have a link to the less expensive filters? I'd like to take a look...

FUEL FILTER HOSE ASSEMBLY from Marshall Snow
At least I think that's the filter as well... Going back and looking at it again maybe they just mean the hose? lol. I don't know.

Looks very similar to the OEM one. That's an awesome price, I may have to order one for the 600! My 700 is a different filter, the hose is shorter. So that means it's even more expensive, because they only used that filter for one year. Figures.
Thanks!
