I'm looking at a 2002 Polaris Pro X 440 with the 600 twin liberty engine. The sled has registration and looks to be in good shape. The owner said it has been raced for just 1 year. I think thats not to bad. He also said he dosn't know how many miles are on the sled.

So my question is: would there be any concers I should be aware of since its had an engine swap, with it been raced and with the unknown mileage? He seems like he really wants to sell the sled cause he was asking 2200 on the craigslist add and and when I texted him he said he would take 1900. He told me that he would not sell the sled if I was serious about buying it.

The 600 engine has no glaring issues at all. It's been a bright spot in the Polaris lineup. If the swap was done correctly, it should be good to go.

Race miles are hard miles, look the sled over carefully and check for damage in the suspension. Tilt the sled on it's side and examine the bottom, that can be very revealing as to how it was ridden.

I agree with BC .. on another hand, if youre not sure on the sled .. keep looking. Only reason I said that .. I would want to know a better history of the sled, knowing whether its been taken care of or not. $1,900 is a little too much for '02 with unknown miles. WL

I really want a Pro X but most of them are like 2.5hrs away and I really dont want to travel that for for a sled.

Planning on going and looking at the sled this Sunday so I guess I shall see then. What would y'all price the sled at?

"I have a 2002 440 with a 600 motor in it runs great. Has a 1 1/4 paddle track 6in bar riser. Runs great call or text for more info and pictures 2200 obo"

1400-1800 is top dollar in my opinion. 440 Race sleds aren't worth crap in stock form.

id look else where. you dont need to be stuck on the pro x. im not too knowlagable on 2000+ sleds, but there are alot of good ones. personally i like the mxz's by skidoo, and so do soooo many people. you could get a good one for 1900.

Well I got some more answers out of the guy. He said the swap wsa done 4 years ago and has been rode 4 times since the swap. He also said that the sled was a Hill race sled and been raced about 10 times. Make any sense!?!?! The spedo dosn't work. He said the the mileage on the 600 engine was about 1K at the time of the swap.

I just don't want to buy the sled and have issues with it. He has come down to 1800 but I'm going to offer 1600 for it.
