05 550 supersport i took the chain case cover off and of course like ive read numerous times...the bolt that holds the bigger chain sprocket the head is snapped off... i drilled through it with a small drill bit and the easy out snapped....i tried drilling with a titanium drill bit but no luck getting threw the broken easy out...any suggestions... im hoping this bolt will fix the small clunk nose when i drive around 5 mph..

Try turning the broken piece the other way with a hammer and a punch. You should only need to move it a little bit to break it loose.

Or weld a washer onto the bolt than weld a nut to the washer and back it out. I do this for replacing manifold bolts on Chevy trucks

the stud of the bolt is broken off into the shaft..so i cant weld anything to it...and i cant see the easy out enough to turn it the other way. im looking to figure out what i can use for a type of drill bit to drill the broken easy out with...

Or you can save the headache and pick up a driveshaft for 50 bucks.....just throwing out ideas.

where can i grab one>? this is my first machine.. so would it be a pain in the ass to remove it..im assuming it has those padels on it that drive the track as well.. is it hard to remove all of that stuff?

I just looked on eBay and there are a few. A xc or edge one is the same. Yes they come with the drivers installed

appreciate the help, one last question i was looking at one on ebay right now... and my machine is a 2005..what generation would that be?

Yours is a edge not a gen 2. The gen 2 was mainly 99-2000 than the xcr in 01 02 and 03

Well mine is a 2005 supersport 550. That's not a gen 2?
