question for '93 indy 500 classic chain case - anyone know what size this bolt is

Replacing the reverse gear.
On the pic below, there is a bolt needed that goes in where the blue arrow is.
Parts diagram shows it as part " screw. part #7512497", however, dealers tell me that part number has been discontinued with no replacement part #.
Mechanic here thought he remembered it being a 5/16 inch size bolt but that doesnt seem to be true.

Anybody know what this size bolt needs to be off hand? Or have one? THanks - Pete

Oh, and a length required? Guess that i can sort of measure it out and make a good guess but just curious if it is known...thanks

That is a 1 inch long 3/8 16 grade 5 if I remember correctly. 9/16" wrench fits it.

You are correct. It's the same on all mechanical reverse kits and installed reverse chaincases on Classics.
