Medicine Lake will be closest to you, but great riding is available at Lake of the Woods and Annie Creek as well. You could hit the Medicine Lake area every weekend and still not see the same country, it's HUGE down there.
LOW has Pelican Butte and Brown Mtn for serious mountain stuff and a bunch of lesser hills and groomed trails. Lake of the Woods resort and Fish Lake resort are usually open Friday evening, Sat, and Sun. if you wanted to have a lunch outing, as well.
Annie Creek has lots of play areas, a few challenging hills, and lots of groomed trails. You can actually snowmobile from Fish Lake to Annie Creek and then to Diamond Lake, all via the trail system. It's hit and miss for grooming, all the groomers are volunteers.
Diamond Lake is a bit farther, but is a really nice destination. They have a facility geared to sledding and skiing.
If you're new to the area, you should register at Sledspace.com. A lot of the local riders post there, and there are always a few looking for someone to ride with. I'm always up to showing someone new the area, as well.

What would my sled be capable of? I'm new to sledding, but have been riding motorcycles since I was 5. My RMK 600 has a 136" track, and plastic ski's.

Back in the day, 136" was a long track. Now, it's considered short. It's still very capable and will get you around pretty well until you try to outclimb the big dogs or hit the 4 foot of powder days. But on those days, everyone is stuck, so you get to learn new skills... how to get unstuck
Medicine Lake has Forest Service paid groomer operators, so the trails down that way are usually pretty nice, especially if you go out of Four Corners (that's where they park one of the cats.) The groomer operators operate under contract and are pretty good about getting the trails in good shape by the weekend. That said, there have been days where the snow was so deep the groomer was getting stuck. On those days, it's best to find something in the shop to work on
When the snow sets up, that 136" track won't limit you much. And that sled will give you an opportunity to learn finess instead of brute force via horsepower or track length. And when a 136" track gets stuck, it's pretty easy to get unstuck. Stick a 166" and you are there a while.

Great info Hopefully we can hook up for some sledding sometime. We actually bought our sled for an emergency vehicle if the snow gets to deep for our Jeep Wrangler to make it to our house. We live over on Bly Mt. at 5,400ft and hear we can get alot of snow. But, it would be fun to go sledding at some designated areas with another sledder. We hope to buy another one in the next couple months, so my wife and I can both ride.

Oh, and I didn't describe my snowmobile fully. It is a 1996 Polaris XLT Indy ACCS 600 RMK "Rocky Mt. King" edition. I don't know if its rare or not, but I can't find much on this particular model? I know it bumps the track up from 121" to 136" and the ACCS stands for "altitude compensating carburetor system". I'm not sure on the hp?

Bly Mtn. gets pounded from time to time. You are wise to plan on a way out when it gets deep!

Ya, our neighbour has lived up here for 28yrs and said the most he's seen is 2ft in one day, and 12ft in one month! If we got that much snow I would need to climb in through the upstairs window to get in our house
