sleeves or no 98 xc 600 twin
does the 98 600 twin have sleeves or just nikysil cylenders wrong spelling again

Pretty sure they are nikasil. My 97 700 was, and the 600 is a very similar engine...

means more money when time for rebuild has 110 psi on both sides hope it makes it through the yr thanks

Could just be glazing... you may be able to add new piston/rings and deglaze the cylinders and be good to go. Nik is tough stuff, lots of guys go thousands of miles and tear down and still have the original cross-hatching. You won't know until you tear it down...
Maybe you'll get lucky

i just took manafold off to take a look at piston the mag side looks to have a few scratches and bottom ring looks to be get a a little squished with some metal like heating and pto side looks fine but feels like a bit of carbon on top and yes they are non sleeves plus need new exhaust gaskets they were leaking a bit and someone put the two tab gasket not a 3 tab and some bolts were kinda loose go figure

as i stated earlier pto piston feels like carbon builup and on same side one of my plastic reed pedals isnt all the way closed i even tried flipping over could this be part of problem thanks

I would inspect the reed boots for any cracking also.The reed pedals shound never be fliped over you have the chance of it breaking off,the matieral that it is made out of is fatiged ,time for new ,& buy as a set.

ya i seen some i think these are stock boysen reeds for like 60 for both sides
