Foot rest assembly (rear trailing arm mount) replacement

got a new foot rest assembly for my 99 rmk. To swap it out it looks like it takes a lot of riveting. My original ones is bent. How hard is the replacement. If anyone has done this project anything i should look out for?? how long did it take? Is it worth the work? Anything helps!!

I have removed them before. Keep it as whole as possible.

Does the chain case need to come out?

It will make it easier in the long run. You'll have to drill rivets out on the side bumper and enough on the belly pan on that side so that you can get into that area. Also remove the plate that has the ignition switch, choke lever and handwarmer switch and remove the small tool box. I've done them and they are not impossible but just takes time. Much easier and better access if chaincase, side bumper and belly pan have been removed.

Did the job! That was quit the experience. Took me about ten hours. But the footrest is back in and everything seems strong. hope to never have to do that again thanks for the tips. Those rivets are no joke. Time for a ski alignment.....
