So the kid and I are going thru his "new" sled. The normal stuff skid bearings clutch carbs etc etc. Noticed a few odd things. 1st the main jets were 240's. They should be only 210's for this altitude and temp were running. No wonder his plugs were caked black. On the clutch's it still has the gold spring in the primary. Ok....... May wanna change that to blue. Then after taking the secondary apart there was a red spring.huh? Blue I think is stock. Never seen the red one before. The previous owner said He got it in trade and the guy before was setting it up to race. ?? Gold with a red second? Anybody heard of that? Decided not to change clutching till we get a chance to try it in the cold and the snow. Just wondering what others thought.

My 95 XLT had the red spring in the secondary and gold spring in the clutch from the factory. For my elevation (6-9,000 feet) changed to blue spring in clutch and put in 10M white weights. Stayed with red spring in driven.

Hmmm k. Thought red in the secondary may have been aftermarket. I have another secondary in my stash also from a 95 xlt with a blue spring in it. Or I thought it did. Going to go check again to be shure lol. I'm also under 3k in altitude but was told by another xlt owner to go with the blue spring to raise the engagement a bit.
