Your right, it's not.

0960743

Tunnel states that it is a:

1996 (first 3 numbers 096)

Super Sport (next 2 numbers 07)

Last 2 numbers 043 make this manufactured with the EC443PM-01 or -02.

Based on your pics that is the original motor and it is a 432cc, Fan Cooled with 2 34mm Mikuni carbs.

If the guy is trying to fill you full of s%&^ by saying its a 600, what else is he lying about? I can tell from the pictures its a 488 Fuji. The 440 Fuji is an older edition, but looks alike also.

The serial from the motor in the pic states that it is a 432cc (440).

Hmm....

Since a 96 has no vin and only uses a serial, that link only only tells me the current or previous owner.

At any rate the motor model # is for a 440 not a 488. Which is in line with the chassis model #.

Follow the link.

all of the 600 (xlts or indys) were triples LC back then. i have an indy 600, and this is not possibly a 600. ive seen xlts, xcrs, and indys (600 or 650) for sale for 5-600 in fair shape. just gotta look. search polaris xcr. xlt, indy 600, indy 650, polaris rxl (which is a indy 650 with EFI basically) the sled your looking at isnt a real good deal.
