Talking is it possible to test a oil injection pump manually?

Hello all, I pulled my 3 carbs off the 96 rmk, cleaned them all, and am replacing all the hoses, since I have access to the oil injection pump should I be doing any tests or cleaning, or verifying it works, if I push the actuator lever should I see oil come out? Any thoughts appreciated in advance. Thanks.

the oil pump is driven by the engine, if the engine isn't running, moving the lever won't show any oil flowing. Any time I mess with the oil system, I mix the first tank of gas to make SURE the oil pump is working. I would rather double-oil (and maybe foul a plug) than have an air bubble that kills my engine...

Oil pumps are pretty reliable. Nothing to test really.

Only run it on premixed if there is no oil in lines or you will be asking us how to rebuild the motor. It will take a long time to purge so hold the pump wide open as it runs and try to get as much oil as possible in the lines prior.

Thanks man, yep we are pretty excited, i have always done my snow play in my cj-5, locked up, running 2-3PSI in the tires. So this is a new world. I picked these guys up dirt cheap, so if we get a winter out of them, heck even 7-8 rides, i am sure we will be hooked and want to upgrade anyways. The smaller sled runs pretty nice already, the 96 RMK sat next to the 98 indy on the trailer, the downfall was the lens for the gas gauge/cap was broken off on the 96 RMK so water made its way into bad places. I put the freshly cleaned carbs. on last night and she was trying to run...Anyways thanks again.

I took a wooden dowel, cut it on a band saw like a flat screwdriver to fit the shaft on the pump leaving "fingers " on each side to hold it on the pump shaft and used my battery drill to turn it,,opened the pump wide open and pumped it up,,,
