Oil pump adjustment...

I have a 2010 Polaris Rush. I recenlty had the pto side re-built due to engine failure. In talking to a guy that worked for polaris racing, he suggested that i turn my oil pump up, cause he said the 600 cleanfires are pretty lean. Does anyone know how I would go about that?

Just because he said that - get a 2nd opinion from someone else. Your dealer would be the best bet to ask ANYONE? WL

Adjusting the oil pump is accomplished first by growing a third, reallly tiny hand on a double-jointed arm that can get under the air horns to get to the dang pump.

Barring that, Polaris makes a special tool that is bent in the right places to loosen the locking nuts and to turn the adjuster. I used a mirror to check all my IQ sleds to see if the marks align on the pump arm and the pump body. If they align, (all mine did) I left them alone. It's really difficult to get in there to change the adjustment. Some guys with the HO small block are removing the motor mount bolts and lifting the engine (with everything hooked up) to gain easier access to the adjuster.

The guy i talked to worked for Polaris Race program and not that I wanna "name drop" but worked on Levi Lavallee's race team, so I'm guessing he knows his stuff!!!
