But that wouldn't be factory. Putting triple pipes on an efi only causes problems. Unles there has been changes to the ecu, you want the factory pipe.

Exactly. Unless your ECU has been correctly remapped for triple pipes, you will burn up the motor eventually.

Just to make sure there are no mistakes, is there any way you could contact the previous owner to ask if they remapped?

I agree with snowweasel. Polaris never had triple piped Indy 650 or RXL in a stock form. They were only in 3 - 1 single piped coming from the factory. HOWEVER most of us speed freaks never satisfy and we always looking for ways to gain more performance. There are many aftermarkets that we can get triple pipes from - SLP, HTG, PSI, Aaen, DYNOPORT and few others. WL.

To use triple pipes with the EFI, you need to either have the EPROM chip remapped or use an aftermarket controller [such as a Boondocker] so that it will not run too lean.

You can't make it, you have to buy it. Costs a lot more than a single pipe too.

RJ said it. Get your ECU remapped or buy a new fuel controller.

Here is an RXL stock ECU, with a chip inside for triple pipes.
A Boondocker is a waste of money for a '91 RXL. The chip for the Polaris ECU is hard to find, but you have all summer too look for one.

Yes the chip is what you need. Look on eBay.
Decals/color scheme are '91. Not an SKS like he told you either; your sled is the standard 121" track model.
