I did the same on my footrests with herculiner. Adds a little bit more grip, but i figured it will hold up better than the paint did. The plasti_dip wont work on them. As you slide your boots back and forth it will wear it off. You may have trouble with the snow flap also. Why not just paint it?

The EZ-Liner is basically the same thing as Herculiner so I'll be alright there. I mostly bought the Plasti-dip for the brake lever/parking brake and I'm going to try it on an extra set of steering arm boots I have just to see how white looks... Paint wouldn't work on them since they're rubber and will just crack/flake off everywhere. I might just paint the emblem on the snow flap too, I have some white paint from spraying the vent grill this past weekend but again I figured the Plasti-dip might be a little more malleable and won't just come right off when it gets cold/when the snow flap bends... Either way I'll find other uses for it too. Only bought one can of it so I'm not out a whole lot of cash.

Also meant to ask, was the Herculiner affected at all by the heat sinks below the running boards? I always see snow melting on the running boards after I've been riding a while... And did you prime/sand down the paint before spraying it down?

Those would be your heat exchangers under the runningboards melting the snow. Won't affect bedliner sprayed on the top side.

Don't strip the paint, bedliner is made to go on over it.

Were do u buy plasti dip and what kind of can does it come in I wanna do my trailing arms rails and everything to get the whole sled black but if I dont like it wanna be able to peel it off.

@ JD8345RT, Thanks. I know those are the heat exchangers (I just called them heat sinks like on electronics I guess...) I just haven't used Herculiner type products before so wasn't sure how heat resistant it is. Good to know it won't affect it. I was asking about priming/stripping paint because some of the other similar products said to prime first. I guess a person isn't going to strip/prime their truck bed if they're lining it...

@Roof_991, You can get it at most hardware stores... I know Home Depot sells it. I got mine at Home Hardware but you wouldn't have that in the states.
