EDGE front alignment info needed
After having to replace my left trailing arm, upper radius arm and both radius arm tierod ends I noticed my alignment is out a bit. I understand the ski alignment should spec @ 1/8"-1/4" toe out AND I would think thats mostly adjusted via the steering arm end link. BUT my main concern is the radius arms adjustment which I would think of as controlling "camber"???
Any links or info would be great

Going by the '05 manual:
42.5" Edge; 600, 800 Switchback = .82"
41" Edge; Trail, 600, 700, 800 RMK = .735"
IQ; 900 RMK = 2.46"
Plus camber would be the TOP tilted OUT.

I'm not really understanding those spec's My understanding of "camber" comes from cars (inwhich all MY rear wheels have Neg. camber which means I ride the inside of tire, Pos. camber would mean I ride the outside of tire) I would expect it to transfer to sled ski's the same way

Sorry. I'm in a bit of a fog... I have been running a fever for the past 4 days, and I have no clue why. It messes with my thinking.
Here's the rest of the details. They should make more sense now.

Somehow, I was able to ride over 90 miles yesterday with my daughter and her boyfriend... I had committed to taking them, since he's only visiting for a few days - so gosh darn it - I was going to do it! I guess being out in the cold kept the fever down, but it was back raging this morning.

I commend you for standing up to your commitment w/ your daughter and...BF ( being a father of a nearly 16yr old girl, I still find it tough to addmit to "realality" lol) Sledding somehow ALWAYS make you feel better I plan to attack my alignment issue tomorrow and will be sure to print out your diagrams and hope to sort it out. Thanks R'

I use a piece of round bar stock that fits in the spindle. With skis off and front elevated, put the bar in one spindle. Measure from the top of the ski hole to the top of the bar on the other spindle. On the Edge suspensions, the bar will sit below the spindle on the opposite side by the amount in the chart rgoers posted.

Exactly what BC_Dan said!
But there is a little more to add to it. They do make 2 bars that you bolt onto the front end in place of the shocks. I belive there 15.44" long if memory serves me right. They keep the spindles in the proper location during the adjustments. I also belive that the bars are 3/4" shorter than the actual shock.

My bad! I guess you dont need the shock bars anymore.
NOTE: Measure from top of bar to the top of the
hole.
EXAMPLE:
Specified Camber = 3/4"(19mm)
This is the amount of distance measuring from the top of the spindle hole where the ski mounts to the top of the bar that is in the oppisite spindle
Specified Tolerance = 5/16" (8mm) this is the distance that the bar can wiggle up and down in the spindle hole.
Acceptable Range = 7/16 - 1 1/16" (11-27mm)
Self explanatory.

Honestly I'm still "lost & confused" Due to MY lack of understanding, I never even attempted adjustments today

It's much easier to wrap your head around it if you have a picture...
This is my first screen capture so I hope it works!
I know it says 2005 Switchback but all the tolerances are the same for 600 and 800 edge, pro X and Switchback

Get a 48" to 50" steel round bar that just fits in the hole in the spindle the skis attach to. Lift the front of the sled. Remove both skis. Place the bar in one spindle so that it hangs below the other spindle. Measure from the top of the hole vacated by the ski bolt to the top of the bar. Adjust until it measures to the chart posted. Do the other side. Attach skis. Done.
edited to add... That pic is PERFECT.

When I went to the steel supply store to purchase said bar, they asked me if I wanted regular steel or the "good" stuff. I opted for the "good" stuff, which is more uniform in diameter and smooth. I think it cost me 3 bucks, cut to length. Pretty inexpensive "tool" and totally necessary when you are replacing parts damaged.
It really makes a difference in steering having the camber adjusted correctly. The Edge models are different than the Xtra-10, for those, the bar goes through both spindles (0 degrees camber.) It's nice to have that pic, which is also available in the service manuals.

UPDATE: I went to my local Lowes&HD yesterday and all they had for 5/8" round stock was only 36" long BUT, they had 5/8" threaded rod 72" long so I bought that.......... Get home and pop ski's off only to find out that the spacer that need to removed in spindle were seized (wtf) So I swapped out both spindles for a good set I had......I slid in the threaded rod (which seemed to fit nice and tight) BUT, I realized that by the time I reached the other side spindle the rod had a lot of flex/sag I'm wondering if I should get a couple nuts to "sandwhich" the rod to the spindle??????
My big concern is with the left side of sled. When in the air I notice that the right side lower radius arm hangs down and almost touches skid pan=Proper BUT the left side doesn't (no signs of being bent) SO I'm figuring "somehow" this is due to endlink adjustments and just cant figure it out
