Hi , I'm new here and I need some help on the specs of this sled.
2004 RMK Vertical Escape 700 Liberty engine.
I was reading on this model and most of them are labled Vertical Edge not Escape. I hear that this is a snow check model. Does anyone know what were the added upgrades to the Escape model. Also can you tell me how the sled is, its pros and cons on the sled? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have someone who wants to trade me this sled for my ZX 11 crotch rocket motorcycle.
Thank You

The biggest difference in 2004 was in the weight. The Escape has rebuildable shocks and other lighter-weight suspension parts, making it a bit lighter than the Edge.

The 700 is a great engine, puts out about 128 HP, and is very reliable. Depending on the type of riding you like, it may be a great sled for you! Kelley Blue Book lists the value at around $3000 retail, so let that guide you if it's a fair trade for your bike or not.

Thanks alot BC Dan.
Do you know if the 700 came in a fuel injected model. The pics i have seen of the sled looks like its efi but on the specs it says carburated. The seller also installed a new ripsaw track for trail riding here in WI but i will also get the 2 inch paddle track along with a helmet and other extras.
Thanks again

03 RMK 800 Vertical Escape Secondary Clutch

Hey Fellas,

First post, so please forgive me if I'm not doing this right... I'll catch on. So I was replacing a blown belt on my buddy's 03 800 RMK VE along with the coolant hose that broke when the belt went. I went to go adjust the secondary with the little adjuster bolt, and when I tried to loosen that nut, the damn bolt twisted off. So, now, I've got the clutch out, and I got the bolt out by using my Dremel to make a flathead screw notch in it. If I do need to replace the clutch, I cannot for the life of me figure out WHICH secondary clutch I have. I can find links to the individual part numbers for the clutch, but I need to know what model of Team clutch I have.

Is there a link out there somewhere?

Thanks,

Adam

Thanks BC Dan. It definitely has 8 torx bolts on the backing plate. I wasn't sure if the little 4 digit code (mine says 58-44-46-ER) had to do with the geometry or spring rates, etc. Must just be production info from Team.

Is there a way to post pictures in these replies?

Much appreciated,

Adam

The numbers represent the helix initial angle, the finish angle, and the distance of the primary angle in 1/100"

The steeper the angle, the faster the shift. The ramp starts fast and then changes to a slower angle to maintain performance as you gain speed.

Some of the Team helixes had dual ramps, 90 degrees apart.. The differences in rate from one set of ramps to the other set was a way to change performance criteria without having to purchase a completely new helix.

The ER on the helix indicates it's good to go with the PERC system (Electronic Reverse.) PERC (Polaris Electronic Reverse Control) started on the Vertical Escape in 2003. The earlier Team clutches didn't have the reverse angle in the helix for reverse and that helix won't work on a sled with PERC.

At the top of the window, there is an icon that looks like a little mountain. Click that to insert pictures (in the Quick Reply option)
