what clutch sprign/weight for 99indy 500RMK

hey guys can you shoot me a link to what spring and weights to buy?

i looked on denniskirk.com and there were tons in all different price ranges & brands, so im lost.

Im not sure whats a good brand/price/right kind......any help would be much appreciated, seeing as this will be my 1st time playing with they clutch on a sled.

My sled has 4333 miles on her, and it appears that they have never replaced anything. So ive been going around and making the sled like new. This should be the final part ill need

What's the sled doing that you don't like? Stock RMK clutching is pretty good for the deeper snow. Erlandson makes good stuff, but you will have different upshift and backshift characteristics if you go to their setup, which may be what you want. I have their "Trail Performance" kit in my 650, and got a bit better acceleration but a harsher engagement, which is not too much of a problem on a trail sled. In the powder, a harsh engagement will result in trenching, and if you do a lot of boondocking, a harsh engagement makes for a very long day. Before you buy their kit, talk to Erlandson to see what their kit "fixes" over stock.

You may want to just replace the worn stock springs and make sure the clutches are both clean and that the helix ramps are smooth...

must be worn out

if i floor it sometimes the sled doesnt even wanna move and other times it takes off.

Usually the RPM hits 4k revs for 2 seconds then starts to go or it doesnt go at all...just revs up and sounds like a clutch slipping.

belt is brand new but clutch is original....

my mechanic says the weights are probably worn out and to take if off and check for play.

Any dealer can get 'em for you. If you don't have a local dealer, you can buy from a number of places, I have used Babbits online to buy Polaris parts and have been pretty satisified...

Babbitts Sports Center | Arctic Cat OEM Parts | Can-Am (Bombardier) OEM Parts | Honda OEM Parts | Kawasaki OEM Parts | Polaris OEM Parts | Sea-Doo OEM Parts | Ski-Doo OEM Parts | Suzuki OEM Parts | Yamaha OEM Parts

It also sounds like a good cleaning could help your engagement, to me it sounds like belt dust and dirt is keeping from a consistent engagement... When you have the cover off, look at the weights and rollers, and give the whole clutch a bath using soap and water. Also, look at the center of the primary, if there is a black ring of rubber residue there, scrub that area clean.

I bought a red EPI primary and purple EPI secondary springs a couple months ago. With stock weights it engages around 5000. I also bought comet 52.5 gram weights but they didn't work at all. Brought engagement up to 6000...Be great for racing I guess but waaayy too much for boondocking. lol This is in my 600 xlt. Once the snow gets here I'm going to try it. And then i'm going to try it in my 500. I didn't plan on buying the 500 so I don't know if the springs are going to work now....I'll let you know how it works though. The purple secondary spring was recommended for a "spruce up" in 5,6,7 and 800's. So hopefully I'll be able to use at least it...
