track clips.. what to do?

All my track clips are falling off my 86 indy 600 project that I officially have more $$$ into than it's worth and have never ridden. So I'm trying to decide what to do. The track has some age to it, has been studded in the past, and although decent, definetly not new. It appears it has clips that are flat and every third hole has a guide clip with a lip but every hole was clipped. I don't want more money into this track than it's worth so I'm wondering if I should pull all the remaining rusted clips out and just put a guide clip with the lip on it every third hole. the machine is used around the house (corn stubble and ditches) and to entertain kids.
