Im in a dilemma. need help imediatly
I ordered ryde fx shocks for my rear suspension, but i received the two front shocks instead, they actually came with the springs on them as well. i payed 200 dollars for them and they are brand new..
my question is, will these shocks and springs perform any better then my stock shocks and springs? if they will, i am just going to keep them.
I have a 2001 550 supersport
thanks for the replies...

If your shocks have not been replaced, you may notice a nice improvement in ride with new shocks. I'm guessing that the ones that came on your sled are not rebuildable, and are probably not gas charged. If that's the case, keep the Rydes! If you have rebuildable shocks, it is a lot less money to rebuild them than buy new...

Meister...last summer, you and I spoke in a thread about the rear suspension on our Poo's not bouncing back. Just today I picked up two new rear torsion springs for my sled. I have already replaced the shock so I will let you know via this post if it fixes the prob.

I just replaced the rear shock...not the "mid" shock.
The rear one I bought from a dealer in my area...$100 bucks I think....it made NO difference in the way that the sled springs back. I am going to pull the skid, replace those 2 torsion springs, make sure everything is lubed and not binding and hope to hell its sits pretty and bounces back!!
I also bought a new driven and jackshaft bearing to be replaced while I have everything apart......damn sled is costing me a mint!

JayC, what kind of suspension did u have that was "binding", i have a similar problem with an xtra 10. My problem was the suspension would spring back up a bit, but not all the way back to the "neutral" position after i got off of it. turns out that the rear shock was rubbing up against the mounting tube. I've ghetto rigged it a bit, and it no longer binds , but am having other issues now because of it. , just wondering if ur having the same problem that i am. Im posting another ? soon, so please check it out, thanks

Indytrail...I don't seem to see any binding. I know from reading other posts that there is supposed to be some sag in the suspension. Makes sense because you want you track to fall and rise to follow the countour of the trail. However, my suspension WILL NOT pop back up when compressed or sat on. I am sure my springs are just worn out. I am on a training week at work this week and will not get to changing those springs until next week anyway.
I dont really know what my suspension is??? its an '01 Polaris Edge X (Im thinking its a Super Sport 550) with a different sticker package)

Snowmobile shock bend picture by itzraw - Photobucket
-Here's what's going on with mine, you can see where the shock is rubbing against the torque arm, this was causing it to bind up when the pressure was off of the suspension. I think i am going to fabricate a bracket to mount the shock further away from the mounting bracket, since i seem to be the only one that has ever had this problem, and have tried everything suggested, I am begaining to wonder if this was a fluke from the factory.
