1996 polaris Indy trail touring 440 or 488?

I have recently acquired a 1996 Polaris Indy Trail Touring. It has the extra 10. Reverse, handwarmers, thunbwarmer, electric start. i am a total novice. Everyone asks me if it is a 488 or a 440. I don't know how to tell which engine it is. It says nothing on the sled.

The serial number on the engine starts with 97, but the serial number on the chassis starts with 96. It has a plaque in the dash that says "Specially built for the Leoville Rally 1997" I believe it was a prize for the original owener.
