Lesson learn't the hard way!!

I had a friend call me over to weld the bracket on the steering colum that holds the handel bars on. It cracked last fall. I told him I couldn't come over till i got off work at 3:30 so he desided to try to do it and this is what happend.

He was welding on the handel bar mount where it cracked and we think some sparkes went down threw the steering colum and under the motor. Grease got fire and burned threw the fuel line and the 10 gallons of gas he just put in feed it. He put the garden hose on the motor and just stode back and watched it burn. He all mosrt set the garage on fire till he pulled it out into the driveway. Chould have been worse.

You will be pretty amazed what is salvagable out of that mess. I'm betting the engine is ok... and it's also amazing what people can use out of the ashes...

Sorry to see that happen, sucks just before riding season

I went over today after work and the engine is fine. The cranks seals are not even melted. When it cought fire he put the garden hose over the motor and the water saved it.
