I have used SLP (Starting Line Products) and Indy Specialty. If you are going to keep the edge for a while, Indy Specialty would be where I would send it. Indy Dan knows those 800's like no other. His fixes really work for that engine. SLP is a bit cheaper, but their work is top notch as well.. but they don't offer the extended warranty that Indy Specialty does.

I have spoke to dan, but his bottom end is 1695, i understand there is a five year warrenty against brakage. the issuses i have is now i have 2 spare clutches that are freshly rebuilt that are no good to me because his now uses a 33mm pto end instead of factory 30. also with 1700 in the bottom end plus another 400 per clutch so 800 for spare clutches (yes i like to have spares i dont like being down while a on a trip) plus i need a top end. so now for motor alone with me doing the top end i will have about 2500-2800 plus 800 in clutches on a 02 edge. that makes me want to take the 3500 and spend it on a new sled. the guys at shortblocks-r-us seem to have a good knowledge of the cranks and a good crank locking system for about half the money.

See, that is axactly the reason i did not rebuild my viper 700 motor. By the time I added everything up, the motor was worth as much as the snowmobile....

The only way it makes economic sense is if you plan on keeping the Edge for a few more years. Hard decisions, that's for sure! Good luck in which ever way you go!

Hard decision but if you truly love the sled you have, then no questions go ahead with it. I know I will do it when mine craps the bed. But I know I won't need his billit crank.
