96 Polaris 600 oil pump question

Do they make a better more reliable after market oil pump for the xlt. If not what does a person need to do to bypass the oil pump and just run premix 50:1 Its kind of hard to see under the carbs. Thanks

The oil pumps on most Polaris sleds are Mikuni and are usually very dependable. I don't think anyone makes an after-market pump, because there is not much demand...

Using pre-mix is always an option, but to do so you either need to run a small oil tank to the pump and have the pump discharge back to the tank (closed loop) or remove the pump completely and block the hole vacated by the pump. If you leave the pump and remove the oil tank, there is a chance that the pump can seize.
