Clutching
I have a 2007 Dragon 700, with a bikeman performance head with low altitude domes, timbersled air box, SLP pipe and can, and v-force 3 reeds. I have rod mods side vents. I was wondering what to do for the cluch any ideas!?

SLP also has clutching recommendations on their web site. I have found SLP to be pretty reliable in their suggestions.
It's hard to give advice about clutching changes to make without knowing what the sled is doing now and what you want it to do. What do you hope to gain by changing what you have?

Well I guess I have plenty of take off so I would like to gain some top speed. I have 120 studs and I just spin the track and lift the front end up. So I figured I should change the clutching and or the gears.? So I might lose some take off witch in turn be faster out of the hole and gain top end. Am I thinking wrong or is that close?

Sounds like a good plan to me. Try going one tooth bigger on the top and/or one tooth smaller on the bottom,. That usually won't require a new chain, and most chaincases can handle that difference. Stock 23/39 gears at 8000 rpm gives 101.3 mph. Going to 24/38 shows 108.5. That's a pretty big difference. Even one tooth up on the top sprocket or down on the bottom will gain you about 4 mph on the top end if you have the HP to push it. (23/38 shows 104.0, 24/39 shows 105.7)

I just bought an 09 Dragon 800 and im gonna have it clutched by Goodwin Performance. My dad had his 2002 700 xcsp done there and his picked up a lot of mid range power. I talked to Goodwin at the Milwaukee snow show and he said I should get a lot of mid range power and about 4 mph on top speed with the new clutch setup
