87 indy trail oil injection

I recently bought a 87 trail and after running it for even a few min and shutting it down it drips oil out of the exaust. I have a service manual but it says nothing about adjusting the oil output. It doesn't seem to foul out the plugs but I havn't had a chance to get out on it yet. Any ideas on what the problem could be and if it's not fouling out the plugs will I just burn through oil or could I do any kind of damage to the motor? I noticed oil on the motor mount plate but I think it's coming from the exaust manifold flange. This thing drips quite a bit out the exaust.

You have not run it long enough for the pipes to warm up and push unburnt gas/oil on through the pipes.

How long can I reasonably run it at 40 degrees? I had it running for about 4 or 5 min. I got a great deal on this sled and was hoping nothing major was wrong. I guess I'll have to wait for the snow in the next month and really run it and see if it goes away. Thanks

When you start it for 5 minutes, and shut it off. Oil residue will come out of the head pipe. Once your out in snow and running the engine like its suppose to be ran you'll hardly notice it. I dont run mine any longer than 5 or 10 minutes in the summer...You need snow on the coolers to keep the motor cool. And you need cooler air for the fan to blow on the hot engine if its fan cooled
