I posted this info in a prior thread but I thought more guys would see it if I started a new thread.
Now that everyone is getting ready for winter time to tune er up....
To get the most out of your sled requires that the carbs be perfectly syncronized. You need to check the sync both at idle and also when the throttle is applied. After the carbs are syncronized make sure to adjust the throttle cable free play to spec 0.010"- 0.030".

Snowmobile Fanatics
Here is a homemade tool you can make yourself. I have not tried it but I see no reason for it not to work. Cheap to make and easy to use. The fourth hose would not be used if tuning a triple and would have to be capped off. You would obviously have to cap off two hoses if using it on a twin. I think it would be worth a try to build for the minimal investment it would take.

Homemade Manometer - VFR Discussion
I think if i was building it I would use two stroke oil , the blue color would be easy to see and if I messed up and sucked some into the engine it should not hurt anything.
The theory behind this tool is since the hoses are all looped at the bottom you are comparing the difference in vaccuum between all
the carbs rathar than the amount of vaccuum each carb is producing
in relation to atmospheric pressure. Should be quite accurate.
