whats the worse that could happen?

ok not the worse, but if i put a primary clutch off a 01 xc sp 500 on a 02 xc sp 600 what should i expect? the spring is red on a 500 and blue on the one i have(600). the weights are 54 on the 500 and 58 on the 600. the guy wants $100 and said the sled had 1000 miles on it. the reason i need a different clutch is one of my weights stick and i think it stock so the clutch has 7000 miles on it assuming no one rebuilt it ever. anyway should i buy this one?

why do you think there is a problem,are they not the same clutch just calibrated for different engines and engine speeds.

#1 primary clutch controls rpm
#2 secondary clutch controls upshift and backshift

if you need more rpm,work on the primary
if you need more effeciency,work on the secondary

example:
you have a 100-200 primary spring,
need more engagement go 120-200
need more top end rpm go 100-220
get mydrift,spring induces rpm

secondary clutch;
you have a 100-140 spring
you want more backshift go 120-140
you want more up shift go 80-140
your helix also plays a major signicant role here.a larger helix angle at the start of the shift will give more excelleration and the stock angle at the end of the shift will deminstrate the wot rpm

If the bushings are good,for $100 I'd buy it and put the spring and weights from your sled in the new clutch.Just so you don't have any problems.But 7000 miles,it's close to needing a rebuild.
