Anyone ever use AAEN universal canister?
Picked up a 98 XCF 440 and someone took out the baffle on the stock can. I know because I opened it up after spying the snotty weld job. It's not that it's loud, still has the packing and perforated metal liner but it sounds kinda crappy. I like the more "tuned" sound I guess.
I see where I could cut off the entire "muffler" assy, leaving the tuned part of the pipe with what looks like a 1.25". Then add a short 50-60 degree bend to allow use of one of AAEN's universal canisters. Looking at the aluminum ones because of weight and they're rebuildable. 9" long and 3" in diameter to get the most out of it. And I can use the stock exit hole with a collar, probably add another spring mount too, no problem.
Anyone use one? Just wondering how they liked it and the sound. I understand the necessity of the expansion chamber, that's not getting touched, just the baffle after the fact.
