Umm.....pretty sure there is, umm because I have an Indy 400.... Okay so you have an Indy 400 XC. That was Polaris's early 90's "racing sled", BUT unfortunately I don't know a whole lot about it. If it is the 400 L/C engine it is SOLID!

thanks for the replies i looked it up on google and this is what it said "Targeted at the fast growing cross country race market, the first XC was set to take Polaris racers
across the finish line first. New rear suspension and other chassis improvements high-lighted this
limited build production race sled." and yes there is such a thing because i own it i have original paperwork for it. the manufacture date was january 1st 1990 so im guessing its a 1991 model, but it has a 440 l/c motor in it and the other one i saw had the same 440 engine in it too but this internet sight i saw said it had a 396cc fuji power plant in it which it doesn't. my friend has an 92 xcr 440 and its the same engine as what i have in my xc 400 so i dont really get it. i got the info from this sight: History of the XCR-1

If you need to know the year, look on the side of the sled just under the seams of the seat... there's a sign. If you need to know the engine size, look under the hood on the engine... there's usually a noticeable printing there. I only know about a 91' polaris indy XC 400. That what you meant?

Well from what I can tell you DO have an indy xc 400 which DOES exist, but unfortunately you don't have the original motor in it. The xc 400s had a 396cc l/c twin. You probably have an engine out of a later year indy xc like a 93 or 94 indy xcr. On the upside it's still a solid sled.

thats what i dont get is because the guy i found with the same EXACT model and yearhas the same engine i have in mine so is it really that likely that we both switched engines in it? i have the original title it says the engine model number is 50pl01 i think ill try to do some research or if anyone knows what that is that would be sweet

That would indicate that the original engine was a 500.
If it was the 400 that is in it now, the engine # would be a 40PL.

The 1991 400XC's DID in fact come from the factory with a 440 in them even though it says 400 on the hood. They are pretty rare sleds. I personally would not go drilling extra holes in the tunnel to put an Extra 10 suspension in. That would detract from the value of the collector sled. Enjoy it they are great sleds.

Makes sense. Kbb doesn't even have them listed.
