1996 Polaris XCR 600 veering side to side: Ski Alignment

Hi again!

Forgive me if this is covered elsewhere. I'm on an extremely slow internet connection right now, and searching is taking forever .

This 96 XCR 600 is a little "shaky" when running on hard pack trails...the sled's steering "jiggles" side to side...almost like it really does not know which direction it wants to go.

The sled is equipped with carbide skags, but no studs on the back that I can see. Steering ball joints are average; there is a little play but not gobs of it. I measured the ski "toe in" as per the manual. It was about 1/2" to 3/4" toed in at the back of the ski runner handles (point H) as compared to on the back of the ski (point I)

1) This toe in more than recommended. Any advice on changing the toe in?
2) Could the skags be causing this "wobbliness"? Should I remove them?
3) Any other advice on aligning the skis?
