'93 XLT idling very high
I am new to the site and I am also new to snowmobiling. I have done it in the past but I have never owned my own sleds. I recently purchased a '93 Polaris XLT and a '96 Polaris Indy 500. The Indy seems to be in good order as I get them ready for the season. The XLT is in good order but the only problem I find is that it idles around 3k RPM with the choke off. If I engage the choke during the high idle it will die. I am an auto mechanic, but I don't know much about 2 cycle engines and even less about carbs. Is that normal for sleds to idle that high? Otherwise the XLT is snappy as hell on the throttle and the triple PSI pipes I have on it sing like an opera star... any thoughts on the high idle?
