1997 Polaris Specs

Does anyone know, whether or not, there are any website or folks with specs for specific sleds? I am kinda new to the snowmobile scene, and want to know as much as I can about my sleds. I have a 1997 Polaris Indy 500 liquid cooled and a 1997 Polaris Indy Trail RMK fan cooled. Both seem like really decent units, I just want to know more about them, I.E. track lengths, problems to watch for, dependability, etc. BTW, can't wait for the snow!!!

There are some specs on this web page. You don't have to join to browse.

Welcome to the forum!

Excellent website, thanks! Anything you might know of that I should watch for on my sleds? I changed the chain case oil in both recently, and am lubing all the grease nipples I can see. Have 'fixed' things I see that look out of place. Still learning, but not afraid of much! Tracks appear to be in really good shape.

Polaris 1996 - 1998 manual

See "Engine/ Drivetrain" forum, look for "Links to service manuals" thread, go to last few posts (Oct 1, '08) and you will find a link to manuals. All you need to know about your sled. Enjoy the snow.

Hey ardypol,

You can get online parts catalogues and operator guides from the www.ski-doo.com - BRP Ski-Doo website, no service manuals though. Click on "Owner Center" from the homepage to access.

Any snow yet in Edmonton?

Thanks for the info. No snow though. We've had 20-25c weather lately. Not exactly sparking the snowfall!!! Really sucks! Someone upstairs is punishing me. Better snow soon!
