Cool replacing track on `90 indy650

I have a manual but have a little problem. Which drive shaft in the chaincase do I remove? Do I need to have a second person to hold the shaft in the tunnel while removing the drive shaft from the chain case? Do I need to remove both sides of the driveshaft(ie the secondary sheave side and other side)? thanx in advance for any help...

Remove the chaincase cover, then the chain/sprockets. On the other side, remove the bearing and the shaft should slide out the back of the chaincase and out of the sled.

still having problem removing driveshaft

I have every part removed, except the bearing. If u remove the bearing how do u press it back on the shaft? I cut the inner flange plate to slide the bearing through the tunnel hole. Can I assemble it w/ the plate cut or will the water get into the flanges and rust the bearing. I really need some help here it has been 2 weeks and the shaft is still in there just about 1/2" from being out...thanx
