I have a 98 indy 500 that is leaking fuel like crazy. It is coming out of a 1/8 inch line between the 2 carbs that connects with a tee. Does anyone know where this line connects? I pulled on it and appears to have some sort of check valve on it, but the fuel is just spraying out the end.
Also, check the inlet needle/seats, they may be sticking, and make sure the vent hoses terminate higher than the fuel tank. Most of the time, they terminated up under the handlebar cover...
Welcome!
You need to take a piece of fuel hose and put it on the inlet.
Then blow into it and raise the float til the air stops flowing.
Where it stops should be level with the carb body!
This is your float 'Level'!
Sorry had to reregister. I figured out my problem. I created it when I installed the new gas cap, Pressure in the tank. I unscrewed it heard the pressure release and sure enough it stopped the leak from them small tubes. Thanks for your help.
Kccats is referring to vent hose for your tank not carbs. It should attach to a barbed fitting on front of tank right behind steering post and it loops back and forth on steep hoop. Sometimes they get kinked.
Yep, and if you don't have the vent, eventually as the fuel goes down in the tank, you will pull a vacuum on the tank and it will stop you dead in the water from no fuel...
