I added a gas tank to my edge and am now trying to install an led brake light. It is 12v DC and already tested the light with a 12v battery. I am trying to wire this thing in and it's not working. I've tried different combos and still nothing. Any one alse have this issue?
The current on your sled is 12 volt AC unless you have a bridge rectifier or diode to convert it to DC. Regular incandescent bulbs don't care what current they have, they will work. It could be the LED doesn't like AC...
The pink area is just the bridge rectifier and capacitor. Which would produce a DC pulse with no huge drops. You wouldn't even notice the very very slight flicker.
The rest of that is a full regulator, if you needed a good steady 12-15 volts (adjustable).
There is another way to make a regulator that is a bit easier. It uses an LM715 regulator. Can even use a different form factor that can get up to 5 amps.
