Electric shield wiring help??

I have a 2005 super sport 550 fan with electric start,any recommendations where to wire in my electric shield. It has 2 wires red (POS) & black ( neg) I assume. Any help appreciated. Thanks

If it doesnt have electric start and a battery I would tie into the feed for the hand warmers. A multi meter will steer you to the right wires.

look by the voltage regulator. There should be a yellow or brown wire which will be hot. You can ground either to the bolt that holds the regulator in place, or to the screw in the square frame which supports the handlebars that has the plastic shroud attached to it (near the air box). wife has this sled and this is where I attached hers. woorks great!

one more question,are you talking the voltage regulator up above the left foot galley behind the plastic shield that I had to install with the electric start.Its about 9" above the left foot with 2 wires coming out of it??Youve been helpful THANK YOU

that's the spot. Red wire from shield is hot. black is negative. Have you had the chance to ride the sled yet? How does it preform? I have the 05' 550 classic (same motor) and it only tops out at about 60 mph. It's going to the dealer on Tuesday to be looked at. I ride Vermont all the time, where abouts are you located?

Thanks for the help.I live just outside of Montpelier Vt. Praying for snow.Mine tops out at about 75- 80.Love the sled its a nice ride.

We're supposed to go up to Barre for New Years wekend, but the snow conditions don't look too promising
