if you know what your doing 13 isnt too young for a banshee. I started riding a banshee when i was 15 and i was only 4'11" and like 100lbs. as long as you know how to control the power you will be all set. and banshees arent real bad for trails. as long as you keep it high in the rpm it will rip in the woods. plus you could put a 2 into 1 carb and 2 into one pipe and the thing would have decent low end too.

it bugs me when people say you can't ride 2-strokes in the woods. it's not that difficult to keep it in the power, all you need is a little practice. just shift later and downshift sooner. i think that most people that say that either suck or don't ride a 2-stroke. so i agree with you dracutrider.
94zr580- i know that you are gonna have some sort of comment about my riding, so shhhhhhh!
not everyone needs to know i suck.

u said it for me !!
i fully agree with u tho, i race hare scrambles in the summer, and 2 strokes DOMINATE. just watch gncc on tv, its 99% two strokes. all be it 125s arent the best in the woods, 250s smoke 450f's in the woods. then you get bikes like rmx 250s and kdx 250s that have a TON of low end. thats first hand expericence btw.

It depends on that rider. If you are really skilled at shifting and using the clutch, you will be just fine.
Just remember, YOU control the power with your right thumb so if you respect the power you will be just fine.

^^^ that may be true, but we've all heard the classic story of the kid that freaks out and forgets to let off the throttle then smashes into a tree.

I agree 100%. If I had a 13 year old kid, no way would I buy them a Banshee. I think Id put them on a 300EX, Warrior/350
Raptor or TrailBlazer.
However, some people start out riding dirtbikes when they are very young (5 years old in some cases) and those people could handle a Banshee or any other sport quad with ease.
It all depends upon the rider's skill and maturity.

you were watchin motocross or supercross correct? im talkin gncc (grand national cross country, hare scrambles.) thumpers are rare in those races.
ps. you changed what i said in your quote. you erased the parts where i said hare scrambles.

last time i checked, 4 stroke atvs control GNCC, and for dirt bikes, its a mix, but it seems to be more 2 strokes cuz they are lighter and they dont need 60 hp to move a 200 lb thing.
2 stroke quads just dont compete with 4 strokes. ive ridden a 250r(the best 2 stroke atv ever) and this kids 400ex eats it up in both motox and xc
dirt bikes, depends on how fast u wanna hit a tree

thats true about atvs. not many two strokes out there at all, and the only two they were ever really good was the 250r and ofcourse the banshee.
