Got the Sport ATV I was looking for...
2002 Honda Sportrax TRX 400EX.
Yellow
All stock except purple shock covers(women owned)
Just put some Amsoil Synthetic and a K+N oil filter in it for the first change. Also got a replacement NGK DPR9Z plug for it since the Honda owners manual said it was better than a DPR8Z for high speeds or something and mine seemed not to like starting much.No real mods yet but hopeing to get nerf bars and a DG exust for it soon.Runs great and its in great shape.Got it for $2500.
BTW does anyone know a good message board for ATV's only?
Ron

I would deffinetly look in to a better exhaust system than a dg, (hot tip) white brothers makes the best pipes for a 4 stroke.

I bought a white brothers pipe for my son's DRZ125 4 stroke, and it also came with a new jet and air filter. Great pipe! The sound is awesome, and the jetting helped it's performance.

Nice buy, welcome to the sport. I'll have to agree with these guys about the DG. As already said White Brothers makes good pipes as well as Yoshimura, HMF and Curtis Sparks. I'm on atvconnection.com there's a lot of good tech help there.

Sparks timing advance key gave my 400ex a ton more power...that and removing the endcap, removing airbox lid, adding a K&N, changing the pilot jet from a 38 to a 42 (solved the starting problem) and throwing a DJ kit in it. I also dropped the front sprocket a tooth, upped the rear one, and went to 22" rear tires for additional rear ground clearance.
Was a great machine till I bought my z400....reverse, twin cam, and electric start ROCK.....
