Cat does it again (1000 thundercat 4x4)
Wow! Thats crazy! A 1000cc quad! Does anyone have any specs on the power of this beast? I have read that this thing has 180+ ft/lbs torque! I wonder how it will work in the mud? I can't imagine how they can harness that much power. I have read that the Rotax 800 Can am is almost too much power and it makes it hard to lug the bike through the mud without spinning out. Any opinions?

Yea our 400 Outlander can do anything the big boys I ride with can do. That extra 200 lbs can be a huge difference no matter what kind of power is under your ass.

That's a heavy ATV. Depending on what you really use the machine for, you really don't need anything bigger than a 3-400. My Kaw is a 300 4x4 and it does everything I need it to do. I use mine mainly for deer hunting, and ocassionally go on some trail rides with my boy's. It's been great. Although some bigger cc machines are used on the farms for pulling. It's all in what the user is using the machine for.

You are right about that! We just got a 500 Can am Outlander and I find that it has more then enough power to do anything we would want around the farm or playing in the bush and mud. They can only get so much power to the ground before tires spin so what good is that extra power anyways? I see no point in owning anything bigger then a 500 other then to give your insurance company a lot more money!

Bingo! That's all you really need for a utility ATV.

Arctic cat is good for that. Even there small 400 Utility has a 6.6 tank yet Polaris regular gas guzzling Sportsman 800 twin has tiny a 4.1 gallon tank.
I remember in 97 when my Sportsman 500 was considered a big bad boy and was only toped by the 600 Grizzly.
