Gas ratio?

What gas/oil ratio should i b running in my late 90s honda xr100? i didn;t think it was nessicary untill i saw the thing about oil in the gas in that KX250. I just put in 1 quart penzoil 20w50 oil for every gallon of gas. It seemed 2 run pretty sluggish and produced quite a fair amount of smoke. Is this normal? Please help.

Dude, that oil your using is 4 stroke oil. You don't mix with that! You have to use 2 stroke oil. You should run a mixture of 32:1, which is 16 ounces oil to 4 gallons of gas. Use Klotz or amsoil 2 stroke. Drain what you have in there now and flush out the gas tank. 32 ounces of 4 stroke oil to a gallon of gas??? What were you thinking??????

Do what Snowrida says NOW!!! regular oil will SEIZE the ENGINE! Drain the fuel/oil out and put in a good 2 stroke mix!

just ignore these guys, they are a little dense.
an XR 100 is a 4 stroke, there is no need to mix any gas, just put straight oil in the crank case

What a cotton pickin minute!

If your bike is a 4 stroke (find out) then just run straight gas, no oil to mix. The 4 stroke oil will go in your crank case, usually around 24 ounces.
Now if the bike is a 2 stroke, mix as stated above. Hope this clears it all up.
Still, drain that gas and flush out the tank. Start fresh before you ruin your engine.

Yep, the XR's are 4 strokes...... I'll bet it smoked pretty good and ran like.... well not good? I hope you don't use that same 20w50 in your sled.... It ain't gonna last long.

yup... brother and sister share an xr 100... no mixing gas with oil at all... and you better drain your gas tank or else you'll blow your motor pretty good... just unplug the hose at the bottom of the tank from the on/off switch, then tuwn your gas on and drain it into a can or something-then despose of it, its no good for anything anymore, and if you do have a 2 stroke, mix it with a 2 stroke mixing oil-not engine oil!
