Jetting Question Tmx Carb?

1990 rm250
when I ride wide open throttle, then let off, as it idles down, the bike acts like it is going lean, seems to rev back and forth....would this be a sign of the pilot jet too lean, I went from a 50 to a 45 and it seem to make it worse....don't have a 55 to try or I would, wanted opinions first.

Also, if I screw the air screw in does it make the pilot circuit larger? I think so, but not sure....thanks.

by the way, the bike seems to pull really nice from idle to wot, but idling down seems to be the problem. especially coming back into the idle.

ive saw this on my buddies 92 rm250 today, he had a hole in his pipe. it was only a hairline fracture but it messed up everything.

if u turn in the air screw, its like running richer with the same jets.

the only downside is its like going from a 50 to a 51 or 49. nothing major. but you will notice the difference if you put in the right size. but if it revs up fine, its not the jets.

like the previous post said, play with ur needle, twist it all around. good luck and take ur time, u dont wanna break anything

go pick up a 55 jet at a local dealer there only like $3 and see how it works but the leaner u go it will be more snappy so thats why it takes off good one the starts but onec u figure it out it should all be good. and what kind of gas/oil ratio r u using?
