Disgusted with winter, so maybe get an ATV?
Well this winter has been probably the worst for snowmobiling EVER, in my area anyways. Only 320 miles on. So now I'm thinking about gettin a 4 wheeler.
Anybody have opinions on what they like and don't like on different brands/models?

I have alway's had Kawasaki ATV's. Never had any problems with them. They just run. I have friends with Polaris ATV's, and alway's seem to have problems.

don't buy a poo poo. i like honda 4-wheelers, not the best for mudding but good all around. kawasakis are ok though.

if u want a sport atv, all the 450's are basically the same. the new 450 from suzuki is ready to race from the showroom floor.
for utility- kawa or suzuki. basically the same machines with a different name. I love my honda but dont buy a honda utility
if ur going used and dont need reverse. honda 400ex. if you want reverse, 660r raptor. i dont know about older utilities cuz ive never riden them.
one more thing, cc's in quads is kinda pointless. a 450 sport quad is a lot faster than the 700r raptor. dont take this into effect for a utility, the more cc's the better usually.
*notice how i didnt mention polaris or artic cat, they are heavy, really heavy*

Ok, I guess I am leaning towards a utility with 4x4 because our area isn't exactly flat.

That should not affect your decision making. My raptor will out climb any 4x4 out there. 4x4s are too heavy and you deffinately dont want one of those rolling over you down a hill, and if you get stuck on a hill they will be a lot harder to manuver. The new 450s are not A LOT faster than the new raptor 700. The 700 takes the new yfz 450. A good comfortable sport quad would be the new 400ex with reverse. I wouldnt get a 4x4 unless you are into mudding or use it for work.

How do you like that 426? Bad machines. Buddy of mine converted one into a 3wheeler Dirt bikes suck in the mud though, and you kinda need to haul balls everywhere you go which can be fun, but when you are riding in a group of atv's it will be a pain.

I love my 426. It is so fast and the torque is amazing. I garauntee i can go through the same mud hole you can on your four wheelers without a problem. This bike is a tractor!!

bikes DEFFINATELY cut through mud alot better than people think. better than sport quads too.
there were two factors in that z400 getting stuck, the bike, and the newb rider. lol
arctic4589- unless your only gonna be doin work, get a sport quad ( or better yet, a mx bike). youll thank me when u ride one compared to a utility.
